An interview with Mariella Sheree, designer at Five At Seven Q: What motivated you to design? A: I have been drawing in a lot of art classes, since I was a child. When I was in third grade, I was in a fashion show and I told my parents that I was going to be a part of this industry one day. It was a vision I saw when I was young and the artist in me just feels like designing is second nature. So I got my BFA in fashion design, MA in communications, worked various jobs in fashion, and then decided to start my own fashion brand. My motto is “It’s not just my passion, it’s my life!” Q: What’s the idea behind your designs? Who’s your target market? A: Each seasonal collection has a different theme, muse or inspiration, yet still targets young professional women from 21-45 years old. A Five At Seven woman is sophisticated, chic, and contemporary. She generates positive energy and displays a positive image with her whimsical contemporary style. Awards were giving out to rising stars from Apparel, Beauty, Retail, Interior, Footwear, and Social Media. The star-studded event was packed with fashion industry key players.  Visual Merchandising class from Lindenwood University came to visit Five At Seven's studio and office. After a consumer presentation by Designer and owner, Mariella Sheree, the fashion students were put to the test on their visual merchandising skills.  The students worked together as a team and collaborated on a theme based on Five At Seven's consumers. Each student played a role. Together the students used all Five At Seven apparel from previous collections. The end results of the visual display was a success! Designer Mariella Sheree of Five At Seven was honored to return to Lindenwood University as a judge for the Couture Presentations and Exhibit. 5 teams of fashion students presented their capsule collection for various designers. They were judged on research analysis, trend forecasting, quality of couture gowns, originality, and overall presentation. Mariella gave feedback on their couture designs and encouraged them to achieve their dreams. Mariella Sheree, designer of Five At Seven, speaks on a panel at Stevens Institute of Business and Arts.
